When it came to finding the perfect dress for her Cabra Castle wedding to Niall McKee, Danielle Magill hit it lucky with the first dress she tried on!
A chance meeting in a pub in Lurgan brought Niall McKee and Danielle Magill together, and the couple held their dream wedding in Cabra Castle just over five years later.
They met on February 5 2014 when Danielle, a 27-year-old support worker from Craigavon, was collecting her parents. Niall, 29, a dump truck driver from Keady, was in the pub following a funeral.
Danielle recalls: “I had been meant to go on a date but that didn’t happen. I woke up the next morning to a message on social media from Niall, we messaged for a week or two before we met and had our first date. “The rest is history, we have been together for over five years now and living in our own home for almost four.”
Two and a half years into their relationship, Niall handed Danielle an ‘amazing diamond ring,’ and a month later they viewed Cabra Castle. “We both fell in love with it and knew we wouldn’t be booking our wedding anywhere else, so we set the date for May 3rd 2019,” said Danielle. “My mummy and I started attending wedding fayres and before we knew it, we had everything booked.
“I spoke with Perfect Day in Lurgan and they asked if I had looked at dresses but I said I thought it was too early, and before I knew it I was booked in. I showed them a photo of the dress I liked and they brought it out, I tried it on and fell instantly in love and placed my order there and then!” Danielle had her mum and grandmother with her too. “I was so impressed with the service at Perfect Day that I purchased my bridesmaid dresses from there too,” she said. Danielle’s dress was Mori Lee and bridesmaids, her best friend Sarah Cain, her cousin Stacey McNally and Niall’s sister Sinead McKee, wore dresses by Mark Lesley. The mother of the bride outfit was by Shauna Fay.
Looking resplendent in suits and shoes from Robert Paynter menswear were best man Jamie McAuley, groomsmen Liam McKee, a cousin, and Paul Conway, a friend, junior groomsman Dara Magill and pageboy Fionbhair Magill, both nephews of the bride.
Danielle said the photographer Stephanie Williamson made the whole bridal party feel at ease and was very easy and relaxed to work with.
The couple married in St Anthony’s Chapel, Craigavon, and celebrated afterwards in Cabra Castle with 220 guests.
Special features of the day included a photo booth, and a harpist.
Danielle and Niall enjoyed a honeymoon in Barbados and cruising in the Caribbean.
