Hey brides-to-be! We’re very busy this week shooting a gorgeous collection of bridal gowns for our upcoming Spring/Summer issue, you are in for a treat, the dresses are fabulous! Today we’re sharing Moira and Frank’s summer wedding at Lissanoure Castle with photography from Davis Photography in Coleraine. We adore the classic vintage styling of the day.
Frank and Moira met in 2006 at their local village BBQ and knew from the very beginning that they were meant to be! Eight years on in July 2014, Frank proposed to Moira on a little island in the Scottish Hebrides;
“Frank took me to a little Island in the Scottish Hebrides called Gigha, this was an island we had been to before and loved. We cycled from our home to Ballycastle and got the boat across to mainland Scotland. Frank had previously ordered the diamond from Scotland as the ring was to be handmade. However due to public holidays in Northern Ireland the diamond hadn’t arrived before we were leaving! So he arranged for the diamond to be given to the men sailing the boat to bring it from Scotland to Ballycastle and secretly hide it in Frank’s bag when we got on the boat, without me realising! When we got to Scotland, we cycled up the coast before getting a further ferry to the Island. The next day on the Island we cycled to the twin beaches, which are very secluded and we were the only two people on the beach. It was there that Frank asked how long we had been dating, then got down on one knee and popped the question with the diamond in hand! Of course I gave him an absolutely ecstatic yes and ran around the beach! Frank had then arranged for the designer to travel from mainland Scotland to Gigha the next day so we could start designing the ring!” explained Moira.
When they began planning their wedding both Moira and Frank knew they wanted a classic style wedding at Lissanoure Castle and booked the stunning venue immediately.
“Our theme was classic vintage and I wanted a vintage style dress. I went to Star Tiara in Coleraine and fell in love with the first dress I tried on, it was exactly what I wanted! I then went to one other shop, but quickly came back to Star Tiara and ordered the first dress! My eldest sister Elaine and my lifetime best friend Pamela were bridesmaids. Their dresses came from Star Tiara as well. My two nieces, Maisie & Alison were flower girls and I got their little dresses in Next,” said Moira.
“Our day was brilliant! Seeing each other at the top of the aisle and becoming husband and wife were definitely our highlights,” added Moira.
