Although they grew up 10 minutes away from each other, our couple today Hannah and Jonny didn’t get together until a Church formal, where Jonny was showing off his dance moves in a kilt! We’re delighted to share their beautiful story of love on the blog today, it’s especially fitting as Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! “I knew I was going to marry Hannah when she was bridesmaid for her best friend. When I saw her walking down the aisle, I knew that was it. The next time Hannah was walking down the aisle, I wanted to be man waiting for her at the alter,” said Jonny.
The couple soon got engaged at the Palace of Versailles in September 2014 and began planning their wedding for the following October.
As the couple had attended lots of friends weddings they knew the style and feel they wanted for their special day; a traditional and elegant day for family and friends incorporating autumn colours. As Jonny has a love for cars they chose an Aston Martin to travel to the ceremony in, and Hannah chose warm maids dresses in the firecracker shade.
“I got my dress from Bride at Logan’s, the staff where so helpful. The first thing I did was try on every shape and style of dress I could get my hands on and from there narrowed down what I liked and what was a definite no! I just loved my dress as it was simple but beautiful. Full lace dresses did not suit me so I was delighted when I found my dress which had beautiful pearl and crystal lace to the waist and plain at the bottom. My veil sealed the deal for me, it was stunning – full length with the same lace trim that was on my dress,” explained Hannah.
“The day was perfect! My highlight was walking up and aisle with my dad and seeing Jonny waiting for me at the top,” added Hannah.
“For me my highlight was driving off in the Aston Martin from the Church with my beautiful new wife!” said Jonny.
The couple headed to South Africa for honeymoon. The trip of a lifetime was Jonny’s surprise for Hannah – she didn’t know anything about it until after they had got married!
