Aimee and Alan met at school and had their first date at a funfair, that was certainly not to be the last date they would share as they have recently tied the knot with a beautiful wedding ceremony in Portadown and a celebratory reception after at Ballygally Castle.
Following a surprise but welcome proposal on New Year’s Eve the wedding planning started with both the bride and groom to be sharing responsibilities and roles.
Aimee and Alan decided to book the coastal venue Ballygally Castle for their wedding reception, and they travelled to the venue in style where they had wedding photograph opportunities at both on the beach opposite the castle and within the walled gardens at the castle itself.
Guests were reminded of Aimee’s teaching job with the chalk board table plan and Alan’s love of stock car racing was included in the wedding theme with each table having a car name to identify its position. When asked to name a moment in the day that stood out for Aimee she told us ‘taking off the bottom of my dress on the dance floor and seeing Alan’s reaction to it. He just didn’t know what to think and he looked so surprised, it was exactly the reaction I wanted.’ Aimee’s dress was by Ian Stuart and had a removable skirt element to allow for dance moves! The bridemaid’s suede rose dresses were altered for Aimee to make them bespoke for her wedding by adding diamanté belts attached to the front of the dresses. Alan and the guys visited Red groomswear and decided on a Prince of Wales check for their suits.
Aimee an Alan honeymooned in Bangkok, Koh Samui and Dubai where they enjoyed sightseeing and relaxing which was well needed after the months of planning!
