Love, Laughter, and Forever
“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.”
Mignon McLaughlin
Anna Jardine and Kyle Johnston, a dynamic duo have a love story that is a delightful case of unwavering commitment. The two lovebirds met during their final year at university and have been inseparable ever since. Eight years of laughter, adventures, and countless memories later, they finally tied the knot on 18th May 2024 at the Tullyglass Hotel surrounded by love from their 120 guests. Their day couldn’t have gone any better, it was a day filled with fun, love and laughter, along with dancing, lots of dancing.
Anna and Kyle’s journey together started in the most serendipitous of ways—sharing classes during their last year of university. It didn’t take long for their friendship to blossom into a romance that would stand the test of time.
Kyle planned to propose at the Rabbit Hotel during a relaxing getaway. However, Anna’s eagerness to hit the spa threw a wrench in his plans. Not wanting to risk leaving the ring behind, Kyle decided to pop the question in their living room. The result? A completely surprised Anna and a beautiful solitaire ring on a gold band from Gardiner Bros. A proposal that was as unexpected as it was perfect.
A wedding date was set for 18th May 2024, the Tullyglass Hotel was booked, guests were invited, bridesmaids were picked; friends Leah and Zoe along with Kyle’s sister Kirsten and niece Marlowe as flowergirl. Kyle chose friends Carter and Ryan along with cousin Stephen to stand with him. Dresses for the bridesmaids came from Petticoat Lane Bridal, suits for the men came from The Bank in Randalstown.
Finding the perfect wedding dress was an adventure of its own. Accompanied by her mum and maid of honour, Anna tried on numerous styles before finding “the one” at Orchard Bridal. Neil, with his keen eye and understanding, helped Anna choose a dress that was completely different from what she had originally imagined, making the experience both surprising and delightful.
For Anna and Kyle, planning the wedding was a joyous journey. One of their favourite parts was organising the stationary with Perfect Day Print. Seeing their ideas come to life in beautifully crafted invitations and place cards was incredibly satisfying for this detail-loving duo. Surprisingly, the planning process was smooth sailing, with Anna not recalling any particularly stressful moments—a testament to her organisational prowess!
Anna and Kyle’s wedding day was a heartfelt celebration filled with laughter, love, dancing and friends. As they exchanged vows and shared their first dance, it was clear to all in attendance that these two were meant to be. Their story, filled with fun and unwavering support, serves as a beautiful reminder that love, in all its forms, is always worth celebrating.
The ceremony took place in the Tullyglass Hotel followed by a reception that was a lively affair. Friends and family danced the night away, including a conga line to 500 miles, they were entertained by an MC who put on a funny performance as Aunt Peggy after dinner, their Scottish guests ensured that Loch Lomond was played and that the couple received a very rumbustious round of “the bumps”. Their guests; some of whom travelled from Australia, Dubai, Canada and all over the UK all enjoyed the delicious food and heartfelt speeches.
Anna and Kyle’s wedding was more than just a celebration of their love—it was a testament to their journey together. From university classrooms to their living room proposal, they have navigated life’s twists and turns with humour and grace. Their wedding day was a beautiful beginning to the next chapter of their story, filled with promise and joy.
Before heading of a minimoon to Rome, they plan to travel to Japan later this year; Anne gave this advice to other brides “Break in your shoes! Also give bridesmaids things you don’t want forgotten in the rush of the morning / think might get forgotten like hair pieces etc”
Here’s to Anna and Kyle—a couple who are loving married life and have lots of weddings to attend this year prove that with a bit of humour and a lot of love, anything is possible. Cheers to a lifetime of falling in love over and over again!
