Sometimes love can be looking you in the eye without you even realising, which is what happened with Amy & Stephen. Knowing each other from school and then reconnecting in University lead to romance. Seven years later Stephen proposed in Uluwatu in Bali with an incredible ring that he picked himself.
After making plans to marry in June 2020 the couple had to postpone and chose a new date of 10th December 2021. Themes and dresses were changed to coincide with the change of season initially choosing a blush pink for bridesmaids changed it to black to match their classic theme.
Amy chose her perfect Suzanne Neville dress from Serendipity in Fivemiletown, working with Jill who was a great help to Amy. Also picking out an evening dress from the Wedding Centre in Randalstown meant Amy had something a bit lighter to change in to. Amy found the experience in both boutiques amazing saying “the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was an issue, they took time to listen to what vision I had for the day and picked out dresses which they thought suited my style”.
Bridesmaids dresses for Christina (Sister and Maid of Honour), Karen (sister) and Lisa (friend) were purchased online from Chi Chi London.
Groomsmen outfits for Niall (brother and best man), Aiden (brother) and Paul (friend) were from Dee Graham Tailor Made in Magherafelt.
Amy and Stephen agreed that planning their day and seeing everything come together in the room with the help of EP Design was amazing. Although having to change their date a few times due to Covid was quite stressful.
Marrying on 10th December 2021 in St Marys Church, Drumagarner in Kilrea with their reception at Killeavy Castle Estate, in a black and white winter wonderland theme made all of their dreams come true.
Incorporating their theme through from bridesmaid dresses and suits to having a black and white tiled dancefloor, with light being drawn in from candles and gold accents coming through from their ceiling installation and on each table. Making their dream of having a classic wedding come to life.
The very happily married couple said they both loved their day and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Not exactly sticking to their budget made it quite an expensive day but also worth every penny, agreeing that they wouldn’t change a thing.
Their 180 guests enjoyed a glass of baileys and a bespoke personal menu as they sat down at their tables for the reception. The couple ensured the festivities carried on with their choice of two bands Muddlers Club and Smash Hits, providing the tunes for their guests to hit the dancefloor.
Amy and Stephen said the highlight of their day was ‘taking in the moment when you are in the room and looking around at all of your friends and family is very special”.
Before heading off to Dubai on honeymoon they gave this advice to other couple planning their big day “Just enjoy it, especially the week before, it’s so magical and goes by in flash”
Amy and Stephen are loving married life and have changed their plans from wedding shopping to house shopping.
