When your best friend owns a bridal boutique you know the dress choice is going to be a showstopper!
After meeting in 2013 through groom Sam’s sister, beautician Beverley and Sam were married in a sumptuous and warming winter wedding at Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen. “Just over two years after we met Sam planned a surprise proposal during our holiday in Tenerife. We were walking down the promenade when this guy approached us playing one of my favourite songs on acoustic guitar, McFly – All About You. The next thing I know Sam was down on one knee asking me to marry him! It was so surreal and very romantic, I couldn’t believe Sam had organised everything himself. The ring was from Lunn’s, a platinum single stone solitaire which he had chosen himself,” explained Beverley.
Back home the wedding prep got underway and Beverley and Sam set about planning their dream day – a romantic, elegant and warm winter wedding at Lough Erne Resort. Using soft neutral tones the day was highlighted throughout with golden touches and candlelight. Beverley wore the London gown by Hayley Paige, a full-skirted strapless gown with statement handkerchief skirt. “I’m very fortunate that my best friend Katie Larmour is the owner of Petticoat Lane Bridal in Hillsborough. After trying on a few I found the most perfect dress, the London gown which made me feel like a princess! My two bridesmaids also wore dresses in the palest pink shade from Petticoat Lane,” added Beverley. Beverley visited local designer Deborah K where she chose her own wedding day jewellery and beautiful headpiece, Deborah K also designed all of the bridesmaids, flowers girl & mother of the bride accessories. Beverley and Sam’s 120 guests were treated to a glitzy golden sweet table, which proved as popular with the adults as the children! After their delicious dinner was served, guests were welcomed to enjoy the cigar bar and the selfie mirror. The evening entertainment was provided by The Big Kahuna and the celebration was rounded off with a fireworks display over the lake. “The day was just perfect though went by so quick. Everything went to plan and it stayed dry for the photographs, the sun even popped out for a while at one stage!
My highlight was watching everything come together after a year of constant planning and celebrating with all my friends and family. Sam’s highlight was the speeches, especially the Best Man’s which included a video message from Wagner from the X Factor, it was very funny and made us all laugh!” concluded Beverley. The couple headed to Gleneagles in Scotland for their mini-moon and are currently looking forward to their honeymoon in South Africa and Mauritius later this year.
