True Love Tuesday: Caitlin & Marc

Good afternoon, we have such a pretty wedding to share with you all today!

After meeting during a night in L’derry, our lovely couple, Caitlin and Marc were married in The Immaculate Conception, Thornhill Chapel in the city with their reception at the Hastings Everglades Hotel.

Their day was beautiful with an injection of lemon from the bridesmaids dresses and a vintage feel with rustic touches. Caitlin enjoys arts and crafts and wanted to make their decorations more personal by making them herself. She made the centre pieces for the tables herself, using wooden slices, painted bottles and jars with wildflower arrangements. This allowed them to incorporate their bespoke table names into the centrepieces.

Caitlin wore a glorious lace gown with illusion neckline from Amore Bridal, whilst Marc wore a mid grey three piece suit and his grooms party contrasted in blue three piece suits from the same designer.

To add to the rustic charm of their day, Caitlin and Marc used vintage keys as place names which doubled up as fantastic personalised favours for their guests. Their wedding cake, was again given a twist by using three individual lemon sponge cakes, simply iced and decorated by Caitlin. The couple travelled in a VW camper van which looked great in their photos and added to the quirky vintage feel.

“The day went better than we could ever have imagined. From beginning to end it was perfect, the sun was shining as we left the church, which was brilliant as it had been snowing in the morning!

On the morning of the wedding, Marc had a bit of a shock as he woke to a knock at the front door. One of the bridesmaids had mistakenly to come our house rather than going to my mothers, where the rest of the bridal party where waiting for her!

During the mass itself, the priest had managed to confuse himself and the entire wedding party by telling everyone we were together for 9 to 10 years when in fact it was 4 years. Although we all take the Mickey out of Marc for being older he isn’t that old. The priest was very embarrassed, and quickly corrected the mistake, making a joke out of it.

As we said the day went exceptionally well without any hiccups or disasters. We laughed our way through the town getting photographs done and we danced the night away,” said Caitlin.
