A glamourous reception at Ballygally Castle for Rachael & Christopher to celebrate their wedding, the couple who had met each other via tinder enjoyed a whirlwind romance and knew from the outset of their wedding planning that a wedding reception by the sea was what they both wanted and as Rachael had visited Ballygally Castle several times it was top of the list so after a quick visit to the hotel the couple booked and planned their wedding for 25th March 2017.
When we asked Rachael about the ‘proposal’ she told us “on New Years Eve 2015 on holiday in Playa Blanca, Lanzorote we had been having a few drinks at a local bar, then went for a walk along the beach just before midnight whilst I was admiring the view, Chris was asking a group of local boys to take photos on his phone. Next thing I know fireworks are going off at the stroke of midnight and he’s down on one knee!”
Rachael and Christopher who both live in Exeter had a helping hand from Rachael’s mother Julie who helped source various wedding suppliers and make arrangements for the couple during visits back home.
Rachael chose a beautiful Maggie Sotero wedding dress and matched her bridesmaids to her formal wedding theme while the groom, his party including the pageboy wore tuxedos, Rachael also has an evening gown which she changed into that evening to compliment the formal dress of her husband it was a fitted gown with a high split and a full length diamante zip.
There was lots of treat and extras for the guests at Ballygally including bespoke candles (The Elemental Company), a Whiskey & Cigar Bar, Lanterns, Blankets (For the smokers!), Flip Flops (For the dancers) and personalised sweets for everyone!
We asked Rachael and Christopher for their top tips for other couples who are wedding planning, Christopher advises “start planning and booking early, the good bands/venues etc book up fast!” while Rachael said “it might sound hard, but don’t stress about things too much, trying to make everything completely perfect to the smallest detail will only stress you, and those around you, and in the end what matters more than the perfect shoes and chair covers is celebrating your marriage and enjoying your day with those you love most”.
