True Love Tuesday: Hannah & Gavin

Hannah and Gavin met over eight years ago thanks to social media of old, Bebo and MSN! After purchasing their first home together in 2013, Gavin proposed at home that Christmas Eve with a seven stone daisy cluster engagement ring.

Hannah spends her days helping brides choose their perfect wedding gowns at Petticoat Lane, so when it became her turn she chose suppliers that she knew personally through the boutique. The couple chose a May wedding and the beautiful Millbrook Lodge Hotel in Ballynahinch to host their day.

“The colour scheme of the wedding was blush pink, gold and ivory, I just love these colours. I got lots of ideas from Pinterest and had Look Crafty Events bring this to life on the day. Of course my wedding and bridesmaids dresses came from Petticoat Lane! I spotted my dream dress on the catwalk at the 2016 Enzoani launch event last July and just could not wait for it to arrive in store in October so I could try it on for myself. As soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one!” said Hannah.

With her maids dressed in blush gold Dessy dresses, Hannah asked local designer, Andrea Rachael to create her sweet little bridesmaids dresses, who of course stole the show along with the dapper little Page boy! Gavin wore azzurri blue slim fitted suits from Red Grooms in Belfast.

“The day went perfectly. The weather was the only thing that let us down, but in Northern Ireland you can’t count on the weather! I had originally planned to have the ceremony outside but not wasn’t possible because of the rain, so it was inside, but I loved it just as much. The highlight of our day were the speeches! Our Best Man was Gavin’s brother Marty. He spoke amazingly on the day and had really went to great effort in planning his speech. The whole room was erupting in laughter at his jokes. He even provided embarrassing photographs of Gavin in envelopes for each guest to admire!” added Hannah.

“I would advise brides to enjoy the planning process as the actual day goes so quickly! Don’t stress about the small things – on the day you probably won’t even notice them! I would highly recommend a videographer, we used Angel Film. When the wedding is over it’s lovely to be able to look back on the day!” said Hannah.
