Reflecting the stunning surroundings of Corick House Hotel, Emma and Barry’s Spring wedding day was styled with a beautiful vintage touch.
After meeting in a bar in Dungannon during a night out in May 2010, Barry Quinn, a mechanical contracts manager from Pomeroy, chose the glorious island of Crete to pop the very important question to his girlfriend, Emma Quinn, a sales promoter from Eglish four years later. “We went on holiday most years so I wasn’t expecting anything. One night on holiday we were at a restaurant and Barry went to the bar to get us a drink. When the waitress brought my cocktail down she said ‘this is a very special drink,’ but I didn’t catch on to what was happening until I discovered something in my glass – an engagement ring! I was so excited and shocked, I couldn’t believe Barry had planned the whole thing with the restaurant staff in on the surprise!” explained Emma.
Emma and Barry chose a spring wedding and were married in Saint Patricks Chapel, Eglish on Friday 28th April 2017 with 130 guests in attendance. With a vintage theme, Emma’s decor choices were gorgeous and reflected the reception venue perfectly, and Barry’s hard work restoring vintage tractors were the highlight of the day, especially with the guests. Following a visit to Perfect Day in Lurgan, Emma found her dream wedding gown. “My dress was perfect for me in every way. The girls in the shop were fabulous with great customer service which means a lot when you are buying the most special dress you’ll ever wear. Once I tried on my beaded lace and appliqué dress I knew it was the one for me,” said Emma. Her four bridesmaids wore rich pink dresses with complementing beaded bodices whilst the two pretty flower girls wore ivory princess dresses to match Emma. Barry and his groom’s party looked smart in their navy suits with vintage style tweed waistcoats.
“Our wedding day went very smoothly but it just went by like lightning! We tried to stick to our budget but as we all know, we went over it a little along the way! Barry and I both agree our highlight was having all our family and friends in the same place celebrating our special day. All our priceless memories were captured on video and in the photographs which are lovely to look back on,” added Emma. The couple honeymooned in Dublin and Killarney before returnin to married life in Tyrone.
