Castle Leslie Estate proved to be the picture perfect location for Claire and Andrew’s classic sun-drenched May wedding. Thanks to Photography by Marc Lawson for sharing the gorgeous images.
Dungannon girl, Claire first met her future husband, Andrew at University in Liverpool, where they now live. “ I spotted Andrew across the Library and when he went out on a break, I ran over and left my name and number on his desk! It wasn’t until a couple of years later that we got together,” said Claire.
Following graduation the couple lived in Australia for a few years but Andrew made sure when the time came to propose they were back on Northern Irish soil and he had received Claire’s Dads blessing. “Andrew whisked me off one sunny weekend in October saying he wanted to tour the North Coast and visit Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge. I hate heights so told a little white lie that it was closed, so instead we went to Ballintoy Harbour. We were climbing out on the rocks and when I turned to walk away, he called me back and got down on one knee. Of course I said yes and needless to say we ended up on the rope bridge!” added Claire.
Lucky Claire knows plenty of talented people within the wedding industry and used her contacts to make sure herself and Andrew chose the ideal suppliers for their May 2016 wedding. Food and a great outdoor space were high on the list of preferences, and after careful consideration they chose Castle Leslie Estate in Glaslough for their day.
The couple were keen to keep their day styled to blend with the Castle surroundings and chose elegant and classic attire and decorative touches. After struggling to find her perfect wedding gown Claire met with Bernie from Perfect Day in Liverpool and arranged an appointment back home. “Bernie promised me she would find the perfect dress and when I was next home, she did! The girls in Perfect Day were wonderful, very helpful and patient,” added Claire.
Her five bridesmaids wore handmade rose gold sequinned dresses, whilst Andrew and his grooms party kept style classic in navy tailcoats and grey pinstriped trousers.
“It’s such a surreal day, I felt like I was in a bubble and it was everyone around me that was stressing! The day was fantastic and we got the weather we dreamt of. One of my highlights were the speeches, they had the right amount of emotion mixed with humour, and you could feel love in the room,” said Claire. “Andrew’s highlight was the drinks reception in the Castle grounds, it was the perfect setting for the perfect day.”
