Love Through The Ages
I see gold in the air
And promises in our streams
I see love in our hearts
And futures in our dreams
Jesse Woods “Gold in the Air”
Having met in high school Christina Cunningham and Gary Crossan grew up together and got to know each other extremely well before getting married 14 years later. Their special day was worth waiting on though, the sun shone and love filled the air.
The happy couple both from Belfast decided that after having to put their wedding off for a year that they would have the wedding of their dreams and have such a relaxed, happy day, which they did on 20th June 2022 at Christ the Redeemer in Belfast, followed by a fabulous reception at Darver Castle, Co Louth.
After proposing ever so romantically by the River Seine in Paris, Gary surprised Christina with a cushion cut diamond on a platinum diamond band from Lunns. Plans were soon put in place for the big day, their budget soon went out the window though but that didn’t matter as they had the most fabulous wedding.
Christina soon found her perfect dress in The Bridal Company in Templepatrick saying that “the experience was brilliant and the service was amazing from start to finish”. Christina found her Bridesmaids dresses for best friends Andrea Lees and Naomi Torbitt along with sisters in law Ciara Todd and Nicole Crossan in Reflections in Lisburn and Flowergirl dresses from Wed2B in Belfast. Gary’s suit along with his groomsmen suits for cousin Conor Torbitt, brothers Stephen and Tony Crossan, brother in law Patrick Cunningham and best friend Nathaniel Daye were from Freddie Hatchetts in Belfast.
Wanting to have a relaxed day for their 120 guests, they made sure everything ran smoothly, even the weather was great. The church was laid out beautifully and the reception at Darver Castle went swimmingly allowing everyone to relax and just enjoy the day in the glorious sunshine. Gary and Christina both really enjoyed the run up to the day and especially the cake tasting, they said that their day went according to plan although a flowergirl was very sick on the day. The highlight of the day as Gary and Christina both said “it was difficult to choose, the weather was brilliant for the photos, all suppliers were very reliable and all the guests seemed to have a brilliant time celebrating” they agreed that they wouldn’t change a thing as it “all went to plan and exceeded our expectations”
Having their first dance to Ed Sheeran Perfect along with their selfie mirror and neon sign all added to the most perfect day for the happy couple. Their advice to newly engaged couples planning their own day is “don’t stress over the small stuff and to trust that everything comes together in the end”
After a three week honeymoon in Thailand visiting Bangkok, Koh Pangang and Koh Samui they are enjoying married life saying “we both love to finally be married after such a long time being together and planning the wedding at Darver Castle”.
