Siobhan and Michael met as students at Queens university where Siobhan was studying medicine and Michael was studying law, the couple enjoyed student life and shared dates at ‘Mandela Hall and The Bot’ after qualifying Siobhan left Belfast for employment in England and six months later the couple were reunited when Michael also moved to England. Michael had planned a trip for the couple to Edinburgh which involved a romantic visit to Edinburgh Castle unbeknown to Siobhan this is where Michael had planned to ‘pop the question’ however events lead to Michael asking Siobhan on bended knee in the hotel and Siobhan said yes! Michael then offered her a three stone platinum engagement ring which his parents had delivered for him an month earlier.
Living in Newcastle (upon Tyne) it was diificult for the couple to visit venues at their leisure so a trip home was planned and the couple and the couple organised to view three venues however after visiting the first venue, the Europa Hotel they cancelled the other viewings at the other venues, Siobhan said “We were completely blown away by the Europa. They were so accommodating and helpful that we actually cancelled the other viewings. After that everything was fairly straightforward. Ciara at the Europa was a fountain of knowledge and completely tamed our groomzilla. To be fair, all of the people involved with our wedding had exemplary customer services skills and made the who whole process largely painless.”
Siobhan and her mother travelled to Galrgorm to visit Castle Couture where Siobhan hoped she would find her dream ‘Suzanne Neville’ wedding dress and she was not disappointed, Siobhan says “Marie and Laura were amazing at showing their range and helping pick what was going to suit me best”. Michael chose his suit at Bogart menswear in Belfast and enjoyed a faultless service throughout.
Siobhan allowed the elegance of the Europa Hotel dictate the theme of the wedding with the grand ballroom, its chandeliers and their mirrored candelabras all in keeping with a classic elegant wedding feel. The couples advice for other couples planning their wedding is ‘Trust your instincts when making decisions, work with people you can trust and don’t sweat the small stuff!’
The couple honeymooned in Dubai and the Maldives.
