With a sparkling December wedding, Vanessa and John’s day was beautifully styled with a magical feel.
Vanessa and John first met on a night out in their hometown of Cookstown.
Very early in their relationship they knew they were soulmates and four months on they moved in together. A true romantic, John planned the perfect surprise proposal for Vanessa by filling their home with candles, petals and a bubble bath. Soon after their engagement, the couple decided to have their wedding in December and started to look for the ideal venue. They eventually chose Roe Park Resort in Limavady, with the date settled for 13th December 2014 and a traditional red and gold theme chosen. Lucky Vanessa didn’t have too far to travel to find her perfect wedding gown, she was about to marry the son of Trudy Anderson who owns Bramble Brides in Cookstown!
“I avoided all dress stress as Trudy chose my dress for me. When I heard she was going to the Harrogate Bridal Show, I entrusted her with choosing a dress fresh off the catwalk for me. She has a real talent for knowing what dress will suit a girl, and she certainly got it right for me. I saw my dress for the first time when it arrived in the shop, and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, it was the perfect princess dress!”, explained Vanessa. Vanessa wanted her day to reflect the joyous season and include handmade items, so together with the help of her mum, sister Natalie and bridesmaid Sarah, they set to work creating Christmas cracker favours, lace embellished glass jars and sweetie trees for their little guests. After months of preparation, their day finally arrived. They were married in Derryloran Parish Church in Cookstown before heading to the Roe Park Resort, where a surprise guest had gifts for the children.
“During the speeches it was announced there was a gate crasher to the wedding, guests looked around confused until Santa Claus burst into the room!”, added Vanessa. Following their beautiful day, Vanessa and John jetted off to Las Vegas, just before Christmas, and took a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon on John’s birthday!
