Choosing to have, or not to have children at your wedding is a very personal decision. Some couples couldn’t dream of getting married without their own kids, nephews and nieces or friends little people there to share their day, whilst for others a wedding is an adult only occasion. Today we’re guessing you’ve invited little people to your day, and we’re here to help you find ways to entertain them – you can thank us later!
Kids Only Zone!
Provide the children with their own dedicated area. Their very own table with no adults allowed will work well during the speeches and meals but you should consider a little teepee or crafting corner for the kids once they get tired of sitting in the once spot! A “no adults allowed” sign will go down well with the older kids, but make sure there is a responsible adult hovering about to keep an eye on what’s going on!
Chalkboards
Believe us when we say you will not have happy parents if their kids get their pretty outfits covered in paint or playdoh! Stick with white chalks or crayons, and what could be easier than giving them individual chalkboards to doodle on.
Cookie Bar
Every little kids dream, right?! You’re having a dessert table for the older guests, so why not give the little ones their very own cookie table? Different flavours of cookies and pretty glasses of milk and flavoured milks with cute stripy straws will be a big attraction.
Old Fashioned Games
Never underestimate the lure of a good old fashioned board or lawn game from our childhood! Think hopscotch, sack race and throwing hoops over bottles. All these ideas would be easily DIYed, but if you prefer an easier route there are plenty of styling companies now offer giant lawn games such as Connect 4 and noughts and crosses.
Kids Activity Packs
Remember, no paints! If you want to really go to town you could personalise each activity pack with things each child will like depending on their age. If you know nothing about kids, their favourite characters etc, just ask their parents.
