Good evening brides-to-be! Anyone know where the Spring weather has gone to? We’ve been battered with every season today and it looks like tonight will be the same.
Tonight we have a beautiful festive wedding from 4 Ever Photos in Dunmurry. Sharon and Emmett were married in St Teresa’s Church in Belfast, with a decadent reception at Darver Castle, County Louth. Their wedding was filled with Christmas cheer and lots of pretty details, including light up letters from Electric Alphabet, styling from Grace & Saviour and an amazing dessert table from Brown Hound Bakery, enjoy it’s a real beauty!
Sharon and Emmett first met when she began teaching in the same school Emmett taught in.
“We got together the following year and we have been together ever since. We got engaged on the 22nd October 2012 and I was taken completely by surprise! Emmett told me to pack a bag as we he was taking me to Edinburgh, one of our favourite city’s. When we arrived at the hotel we had been booked into the most amazing suite and spent the day relaxing in the Spa. Once we were ready for dinner, Emmett suggested we take a selfie from the mezzanine level in the room, and as we walked up the stairs, they lit up at each step and I spotted the engagement ring in the box at the top. I was so shocked I really thought we had walked in on someone else’s proposal. When I turned around Emmett popped the question!
Emmett had chosen the ring which was a vintage round brilliant cut diamond ring from Boodles and I loved everything about it, but most of all I love that he had spent so much time picking it and making sure it was perfect for me. We spent the night Facetiming our family and friends and drinking champagne… it was completely perfect,” said Sharon.
“During the first year of planning we did a lot over the internet and phone as we were both living in Liverpool. We flew over to Belfast as much as we could but our friends and family were a huge help. When we moved home in August 2014, we were able to visit places and people and finalise details. We knew we wanted to give our loved ones a fun filled, memorable day out,” added Sharon.
The couple had chosen a winter wedding on December, 27th and incorporated lots of metallic, sparkles and glitter into their classic monochrome theme. Sharon wore a San Patrick gown from Perfect Day in Lurgan with an added twist from Ruedi Maguire.
“I asked Ruedi to design a bespoke top for over my dress. I wanted something sheer, long sleeved and feminine that would compliment the dress and I loved the results. Ruedi really listened to what I wanted and made the whole process so special. He also created my tiered veil and I just loved that they were both designed especially for me,” said Sharon.
“The day was amazing from start to finish…. we were both so calm. There were so many highlights for me but the one that stands out was walking up the aisle with my dad and seeing Emmett waiting at the top. It felt so magical and literally loved every step. I couldn’t stop smiling and tried to take in everyone’s expressions as we made our way to the top, I loved it. The ceremony was very special to us both and were blessed to have Fr Derek Ryan officiate it and the music provided by Niall Donnelly was fantastic. Relatives and friends in Australia, Holland, America and England were able to watch the ceremony live on the church’s webcam” added Sharon.
For Emmett, the entire day was a highlight from start to finish!
“My highlight was from 8am in the morning until 4am the following morning as the whole day was the highlight of my life. The service, Sharon walking up the aisle, the church music, the speeches, the first dance, seeing all my family and friends having a great day and partying the night away were all highlights for me,” he said.
