A very lovely good afternoon to you all!
We hope you’ve all picked up your copy of the Spring Summer issue, and are enjoying it? We’ve been having a few slow days around GM HQ, but we’re back at it and looking forward to beginning our next issue (autumn/winter 2016!!).
Susanne and Gareth were set up by their gym instructor who had a fair idea the pair would get on! She was right, they tied the knot in glamorous style at Galgorm Resort & Spa just before Christmas. Thanks to Ciaran O’Neill Photography for sharing their beautiful day with us.
“Gareth proposed at his home with a Haribo ring! I said yes but still thought he was joking until he produced the real thing which he had chosen himself – this made it even more special. The ring is platinum with three beautiful diamonds along the top,” said Susanne.
The couple began their wedding preparations by looking at venues. The Galgorm Resort & Spa stood out to them and the date was soon set for Friday 18th December.
“We wanted our wedding to be really elegant but extremely fun for all our guests. SBD Events from Banbridge took care of the decor and did an amazing job throughout! They totally pulled off the elegant look for us with cherry blossom trees and fairy lights in the Phantom House and continued into our reception room. We had a fairy doors on our invites and continued this through to our order of services and also fairy doors as favours and fairy keys decorating the tables.
We had Marryoke videoing us all day. They were so much fun and we can’t wait to see our finished music video including all our guests to ‘Shut Up And Dance!’” added Susanne.
Choosing her perfect wedding gown was the easiest part for Susanne as she knew exactly what she wanted! With a vision of a princess ballgown with a unique edge, she found it immediately in Pianta Bridal in Ballynahinch. Her maids wore two shades of dresses, baby pink and pale peach, with pearl cap sleeves, whilst the little flower girls wore similar dresses to Susanne’s masterpiece.
“The day went completely without a hitch and all our guests had great day. Having organised everything I got the biggest surprise when during the speeches a few of my good friends put up a music video on the projection screen. They had secretly made it for me showing lots of new and old videos and pictures from when I was a child. They had went to so much trouble to gather all this footage and how they kept it a secret I will never know!” said Susanne.
As entertainment was important to Susanne and Gareth the evening party was kicked off with an Irish dance troupe, whilst an inflatable snow globe was a huge hit with everyone! “We also had a face painter at our evening do and most of the adults where dancing about with unicorns and rainbows on their faces! We had a firework display to end the evening,” added Susanne.
Highlights
Our highlight of the day was simply becoming Mr & Mrs Bradford and getting to do it with all our amazing friends and family and especially my nanny who had not long celebrated her 98th birthday.
