When Victoria Carpenter married her husband Lee Rooke, her four children all played a part in helping them celebrate their big day.
Her daughter Imogen was her junior bridesmaid, and her three sons, Matthew, Joshua and Logan all looked dapper in their matching blue suits.
Sixty guests joined the happy couple as they made their vows in the stunning Leighinmohr House Hotel in May 2018, where they also had their reception.
The couple met through mutual friends in 2012 and Lee popped the questiom in January 2016 after they had been to see Jason Durulo in concert.
“He got down on one knee in the living room, and proposed with a 14ct white gold Le Vian ring with a tanzanite stone and chocolate diamonds on the shoulders.”
Victoria sourced her stunning beaded gown after she spotted it on Facebook.
“I stalked the stockists online and there was only one in Northern Ireland – Divinity Bridal in Lisburn. “I booked to try it on and the girls at Divinity Briudal were amazing. I loved my dress! “I also got my cobalt blue bridesmaid dresses from Divinity Bridal which my friends Caitlin Foster and Ashleigh Perry, along with my daughter Imogen wore.”
Victoria’s sons were joined by her brother Peter Button and Lee’s friend Paul Walker to make up the groomsmen, who all wore blue three-piece suits from Bank Menswear at the Wedding Centre in Randalstown. With a classic, elegant look, the couple had a clean and crisp feel to their day, with a sparkling dancefloor, and a stunning cake adding special details. They also splashed out on live music for the ceremony by Dalba, and a live singer, Alan Scott, who sung throughout the meal service. The couple also had a bespoke first dance – that had to be adjusted at the last minute as Victoria’s hoop under dress was broken and it kept moving up her hips. Lee also kept standing on her stunning ballgown. But they still managed to stay within budget and enjoy their day. However, Victoria regrets the stress in the run up to the day influencing her decisions.
“We had an amazing day but looking back I wouldn’t have let the stress the weeks or so before make me change my mind about saying our own vows; and I would have given a speech myself. “But seeing Lee for the first time, and his reaction when he saw me was the best part! “Our highlight was having family and close friends making the effort to join us and just having the best of times with them.
“And that’s my advice too. Make it YOUR day and no one else’s.
“Those that want to be there, will be there.”
Mr and Mrs Rooke celebrated their marriage with a first dance to The Corrs, ‘Runaway’, before escaping on a fabulous honeymoon to the Grand Bahia Principe in Mexico.
And they’re finding married life, ‘no different from before!’
Victoria quipps, “I do find it weird calling Lee my husband though!”
