Rachel and Noel celebrated their glamorous wedding day at the Ramada Plaza, Shaws Bridge in Belfast. Annette and Sean from local photographers, 4Ever Photos were on hand to capture the magic of their special day. We adore the glitzy touch Rachel added to their day, with blush tones and hints of rose gold throughout.
Rachel and Noel, who are both from Belfast met when they worked together in Schuh in the city centre. Rachel knew from very early on that her relationship with Noel was heading in the right direction. “From the first date, we got on so well that when he asked me to be his girlfriend I said “I already thought I was.” We have always been so open and honest with each other. We both have the same ideals and morals and are both extremely family orientated,” said Rachel.
When the time was right Noel planned a surprise proposal in Newcastle, one of Rachel’s favourite places.
“We were going out four years and Noel had prepared a picnic for us in Newcastle. The day was lovely and was made even better when he got down on one knee on the beach and asked me to marry him. We spent the evening at the amusements, it was so lovely and very us. Anyone who knows us know how geeky we are so it was no surprise that Noel decided to have the ring in a poke ball! He definitely made it very personal to us and I could tell how much time and effort he had put into it all,” explained Rachel.
With a focus on keeping their day local and very family orientated the couple chose the Ramada Plaza in Shaws Bridge for their reception, which followed their ceremony in St Pauls on the Falls Road. Rachel wore a beautiful V neck lace gown purchased from Pronuptia, Belfast. Her maids wore 50’s style Vivien of Holloway vintage dresses in a dazzling aqua shade which perfectly complemented the colour scheme of blush and rose gold.
Following their ceremony guests were treated to beautiful decor at the reception which included lace table clothes, a fairy light backdrop and vintage style birdcages.
“The day went even better than we could have hoped. It really did go by so quickly but we enjoyed every moment of it. When we were having our photographs taken in Lady Dixon park, my granny Allison was walking on the grass and we heard her yelling, everyone turned round to see her fall out of her shoes as they got stuck in the grass she had to dig them out of the ground! I’m pretty sure its going to be in our wedding video!” added Rachel.
Rachel’s Advice
Remember what its all about. It’s about the both of you promising to love each other and always be there. You can make it as fancy as you like but always put each other first. Don’t try and please everyone, choose the things that you both like not what everyone else wants you to like – people’s opinions matter but they shouldn’t make the final decisions. Remember to enjoy the day and live in the moment, if things don’t go to plan don’t worry just remember you are getting married to the person you love and everything will be perfect!
