Naomi Wilson a Nurse from Derry met Christopher Callaghan a Moderator from Derry on a night out, Christopher is. Friend of Naomi’s brother and had no intention of falling for Naomi but, you can’t help who you fall in love with.
The romantic proposal happened where they had their first date a few years ago in Ards Forest, Christopher proposed right on the beach with a stunning vintage style ring from Faith’s Jewellers.
A wedding date was set for 17th June 2023 at Roe Park Resort so all that was left was to sort out the wedding attire.
Naomi went to The Bridal Showroom for her gown, she told us “It just felt right. I felt emotional in the dress and knew it was on the one. Such an amazing and emotional experience. The staff were fantastic and so helpful and friendly”
Dresses came from Ultimate Dresses for bridesmaids Ellen, Courtney and Dearbhla to complete the bridal party with beautiful pastel colours. Suits for Christopher and his groomsmen Patrick, Andrew and Mark came from Tomorrow’s Menswear.
Naomi really enjoyed trying on wedding dresses, making it a special event, the only stressful part was waiting for the RSVP’s, everything else all went according to plan.
The day itself was amazing, from the ‘I do’s’ to the crisp display with their fun signs “Put a Ringo on it” “Walker down the aisle” “Disco the night away” creating such a lovely and fun effect. The only slight disaster was the lack of air conditioning in the room while the bridal party were getting ready, it was very hot.
Naomi and Christopher told us about the highlight of their day “How happy everyone was, how everyone was enjoying themselves and how the photographer got lovely family photos of all the guests. It was a special touch. It was amazing seeing how everything came together”
They both agreed that they wouldn’t do anything differently, that is was amazing and everything they could have wanted and more.
While the happy couple are exploring honeymoon options they gave this advice to other couples planning their own special days “Enjoy every second of the day as it goes so quick, and to do what is important to yourselves rather than others. It’s your day”
They are enjoying married life saying “It is so special! We have been waiting a long time but it’s strange calling each other husband and wife”
