Good evening brides-to-be! What wedding planning duties have you ticked off your To-do list this week? We’ve been planning our latest photo shoots for the autumn winter issue, busy and very fun times ahead! This evening we have the vibrant wedding of County Armagh couple, Mark and Linzi. Married in Ahorey Presbyterian Church the couple were host to a particularly cute guard of honour, which was captured by Melissa J Photography.
Mark and Linzi first met through a mutual friend. A friend request on Facebook appeared from Mark and the rest is history! Football enthusiast, Mark planned a very special proposal for Linzi in November 2012, on a Saturday- missing his beloved football, now that’s true love!
“Mark had said we would go to the cinema and lunch on a Saturday afternoon, missing football which was a bit of a shock to me! I was to go to his house and have breakfast before going, but when I got there he asked me to book the cinema tickets on his laptop. On the laptop there was a website open saying ‘Play me.’ I waited on Mark to come back to the sofa and then watched the video. Mark had made the website (markloveslinzi.com) and a video montage of picture of us. In it he promised to look after me and love me. At the end it said would you say yes to this next question, and Mark got down on one knee with a little box in his hand, I still don’t think I have said yes, I just cried and nodded!” explained Linzi.
Mark gave Linzi the nod to plan the day she had always dreamt off and within the next seven months, the day was sorted! With a vibrant pink and navy modern theme their day came together pretty quickly, although finding her perfect wedding dress proved tricky.
“Finding the dress was the hardest thing, I must have looked in about eight or nine shops for my dream dress. I was always looking for a fuller skirt and net, I didn’t want my dress to be heavy as I wanted to enjoy wearing it and not feel sore wearing it. I finally found my dress in Katriona Wedding Studio in Banbridge. I went for a sweetheart neck line, with a full net skirt and a long veil with diamonds and pearls on it,” said Linzi.
“The day was brilliant from start to finish, wakening up it was raining but we just had to get on with it and by 11 o’clock the rain had stopped and the sun came out. we were both very surprised and how calm both of us were, we enjoyed every second of it. There was one funny incident during Marks speech. He had contacted all the wedding guests and got them to do a little dance to a happy song, it was so funny to watch and everyone enjoyed taking part and it made our day very personal,” added Linzi.
