Hooray!! We have made it – welcome to our first True Love Tuesday post from the new look website! We’ve put a lot of love and effort into making it an amazing resource for all you brides and grooms and we hope you love it!
With only three sleeps left until the big day, this evening we’re sharing our last lovely couple of 2015. Kellie and Ian said I Do at the Killyhevlin Hotel & Spa in Enniskillen at the beginning of September. Thanks to Ciaran O’Neill Photography in Lurgan for sharing their special day with us.
Kellie and Ian met at work, they both worked in different departments within the Civil Service until Ian was given the responsibility of managing the finances of a department Kellie worked in. “Ian then moved departments and we lost touch for a couple of years. Then in 2010 I had applied for another post and unbeknownst to me at the time – it was Ian’s department that had advertised the vacancy. It was fate!” explained Kellie.
Five years on the couple married at Killyhevlin Hotel surrounded by their friends and family. “Initially we were planning to go abroad to marry, however with a toddler who was not even 18 months old at the time the logistics were not working out too well. So we decided on Fermanagh as we had stayed in the Killyhevlin Hotel before and it held some special memories for us,” said Kellie.
To complement her wedding gown, Kellie and Ian chose a subtle ivory and champagne colour scheme with chair covers in these elegant tones. Kellie carried a diamante brooch bouquet and planned her day within three months! “With our two boys being a big part of the ceremony and quite a few children at the wedding we had champagne bottles of bubbles, disposable cameras and a sweetie cart which all went down a treat. We had the disposable cameras developed and they turned out very well considering the young age and overwhelming ‘enthusiasm’ of the photographers!” added Kellie.
“After a week of our little boy Callum being very sick, thankfully when we got to the day he was well enough to go, although he was very grumpy and clingy, which shows in the wedding album! My highlight however was walking down the aisle to my three boys, I was so emotional I was in tears before I made it halfway down the aisle. I’ll never forget the look on Ian’s face, it was like in that moment he fell in love with me all over again. Sharing our day with our closest friends and family, it made the day so intimate and special,” said Kellie.
Kellie’s Advice
Relax, enjoy the day, and take in every minute as it just goes so quickly. Don’t get too bogged down with the little things. I was so nervous I almost wished the service over and by doing that you miss so much detail of the day.
