True Love Tuesday: Julie & Nigel

Good afternoon, Happy New Year and a huge welcome to all those new brides-to-be who got engaged over the Christmas period. Our first lovely real couple of the year is Julie and Nigel who were married in September with a glamorous wedding at the Radisson Blu Farnham Estate in County Cavan. Thanks to Ciaran O’Neill Photography in Lurgan for sharing their day with us.

“Nigel and I met when we were both teenagers, we were childhood sweethearts who ended up going our separate ways to do our own thing, although we did see each other around frequently. In 2014 we got chatting over a coffee in Newry and two hours later neither of us wanted to leave!” explained Julie.

This time romance did blossom, and six months later Nigel proposed. “Nigel took me to Paris for my birthday in December and proposed. He had booked a meal in the Eiffel Tower and a horse and carriageway ride round Paris but never proposed at either of these to places. He waited until we were in Galeries Lafayette at the champagne bar and got down on one knee. The ring is a pear drop surrounded by a cluster of diamonds from Jack Murphy Jewellers in Newry,” added Julie.

Not wanting to waste any more time the couple soon booked their wedding for nine months later on September, 25th 2015. With a modern and romantic feel to their day Julie wore a show-stopping pale blue Ian Stuart gown from Petticoat Lane Bridal Boutique. Her bridesmaids wore deep purple dresses, whilst her little daughter wore a sparkly dress designed and made by Andrea Rachael.

“Our wedding day was perfect it went without any hiccups. The highlight of the day was my daughter Mia reading a poem to us both it really captured our special day,” said Julie.

Julie’s Advice

I would advise other brides planning their big day make sure they choose well when picking their bridesmaids. You need someone who will really help you, and also to enjoy every minute planning as the day goes too quickly!
