The Personal Touch

It was a double celebration when Jennifer proposed to her pregnant partner Rebecca at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

The happy couple met online back in 2015. Two and half years later Rebecca was pregnant with their daughter and on a city break to Paris when Jennifer popped the question. “We chose very different rings, I gave Rebecca three types to choose from and she picked the perfect one. When I proposed I had already picked Rebecca’s ring which she also loved!” said Jennifer.

On the hunt for the perfect wedding dress Jennifer found her dream gown in Divinity Bridal Boutique in Lisburn. Joined by her mum, Marie, Jennifer chose four gowns to try in the boutique whilst the boutique assistants picked out one they thought would suit the bride to be. Jennifer tried on the ‘wild card’ dress first, expecting not to like it but instantly fell in love. “We all cried, it was ‘the one’! I tried on the others and it was not the same feeling so I was over the moon!” she told us.
Also joined by her own mum, Rebecca opted for a tailored suit from Suitor Bros in Belfast. She had an unforgettable experienced made possible by Chris Suitor’s attention to detail and professionalism.
The brides decided on a bridal party of six bridesmaids and two bridesmen! The party included Rebecca’s siblings Tom, Leah and Hannah, Jennifer’s friends Megan, Jessica and Jennifer, their maid of honour Gemma and Jennifer’s nephew Sean Karl. The couple’s little toddler daughter completed the line up as flower girl.
Rebecca and Jennifer found beautiful pink dresses online for their bridesmaids. “They were absolutely perfect, all the girls felt comfortable and they could wear the dress any way they wanted,” the newlyweds told us.

The Bridesmen and fathers of the brides were kitted out by Kris from Hire Class in Belfast. With the men travelling from Scotland, Dublin and Tyrone Kris ensured everything fitted perfectly.
The happy couple married on 30th July 2021 in front of 110 guests at the Manor House Country Hotel in Fermanagh. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions they were unable to welcome many family and friends who live abroad.
After careful planning the brides were delighted with how the day went. “Our goal was to make sure our guests were well fed, watered and entertained!” they told us. And entertained they certainly were! The guests were welcomed to the drinks reception with music by Fanaid. Comedian Gary Wilson as alter ego Peggy entertained guest as master of ceremonies. The guests enjoyed music by saxophonist Saxxy Hannah and Premier Wedding DJ NI.
Personal touches at the reception included a flower wall, lanterns, a half moon arch and beautiful centrepieces, “We went for colours such as pink, navy and silver.”
After a fun game of Mrs and Mrs, the couple danced together to Just You and I by Tom Walker.
The highlight of the day for both brides was having those they loved most with them after a difficult time for everyone, “I suppose with how our world has been the last two years it was simply perfect being around people we love and to be able to have a lovely day with lots of laughter and joy,” said Jennifer.

When asked what advice they would give to other couples planning their own wedding day, Jennifer and Rachel suggest that you limit who you have there to those who are truly important to you both. They also believe in the importance of making the day personal. “We had little touches around the wedding which we mainly purchased from local businesses like personalised items and many people mentioned how personal the day was,” they told us.

After the festivities the newlyweds enjoyed a mini moon with their daughter in the Canary Islands and hope to plan a honeymoon later in the Caribbean.

The brides are enjoying married life and the memories of their perfect day.
