A Magical Winter Wedding
Love is not just looking at each other, it’s looking in the same direction.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
This is the heartwarming story of Eimear Robinson and Shane McCone, whose love journey culminated in a beautiful winter wedding filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Eimear, a dedicated nurse from Maghery, Co. Armagh, found her soulmate in Shane, a financial analyst from Ballymacnab, Co. Armagh. Their story is one of serendipity and genuine connection, culminating in a festive celebration that will forever be etched in their memories.
Eimear and Shane’s love story began six years ago in a quaint bar, where fate brought them together. It was a simple encounter, sparked by Eimear’s request for a taxi booking, but it laid the foundation for a deep and enduring connection.
Shane’s romantic proposal unfolded in the enchanting setting of London during Christmas surrounded by twinkling lights, hope, love and magic. With a stunning ring from Goldsmiths in hand, Shane popped the question, sealing their love amidst the festive cheer.
The journey to the altar was filled with excitement and joy for Eimear and Shane. Eimear found her dream dress at Serendipity Bridal Boutique in Fivemiletown, while the bridesmaids’ dresses were a delightful touch from Shona Joy in Australia, brought home by Eimear’s sister who was living in Melbourne. Eimear’s bridesmaids were sister Orlaith, cousin Aisling and best friends Becky, Seainin and Ros.
Shane and his groomsmen: best friend Jack, brothers Brian and Decky and cousin Niall got their attire from Tux n Tails in Dungannon, ensuring everyone looked their best on the big day.
On the 21st of December 2023, Eimear and Shane exchanged vows at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Maghery, surrounded by loved ones. The celebration continued at Darver Castle, where 199 guests gathered to share in their joy. With no specific theme, the focus was on creating an atmosphere of fun and togetherness, perfectly complemented by surprise entertainment and delicious food.
From the heartwarming sight of their daughter, Saorla, being part of the preparations to the laughter-filled surprise of a singing waiter along with a surprise visit from Santa and the touching moments at the altar, every aspect of Eimear and Shane’s wedding day was filled with love and happiness. Despite a minor mishap with Eimear’s veil, the day unfolded seamlessly, leaving lasting memories for the newlyweds.
Eimear and Shane’s advice to couples planning their wedding is simple yet profound: cherish every moment and focus on enjoying the journey together. Their wedding day, highlighted by their first dance to “Cal” dressed in white, serves as a testament to the beauty of love and the joy found in celebrating it surrounded by those who matter most.
As they look back on their magical winter wedding, Eimear and Shane wouldn’t change a thing. Their day was a reflection of their love story – authentic, joyous, and filled with cherished moments that will last a lifetime.
Eimear Robinson and Shane McCone’s wedding was a celebration of love, family, and the journey they’ve embarked upon together. With hearts full of love and gratitude, they begin this new chapter hand in hand, embracing the adventures that lie ahead.
