Good evening brides-to-be! Are you all ready for another true love story? We’ve got the perfect vintage love story just for you tonight.
We’ve had a busy couple of days in the studio capturing our new styled bridal shoots for the Autumn Winter issue – it’s getting very exciting now, we can’t wait to share our inspirational ideas with you. You’ll have to wait a little while longer, but this evening we’re sharing Donna and Niall’s wedding from October last year. Audrey from C2 Photography and Design was the fantastic photographer behind the lens, thanks for sharing with us!
After their beautiful engagement Donna began her wedding planning by firstly choosing her bridesmaid, Donnas younger cousin, Danielle. Next up, Niall chose his Best man, his younger cousin, Sean. With help from their attendants planning for their big day began with a few surprises and trying times thrown in.
Donna and Danielle visited a bridal fayre in November 2013. During the fashion show both of them fell in love with an elegant gown with lace back detail.
“I tried on other dresses following that but nothing compared to that first dress, so I put a deposit on it and also entered a competition to win my wedding dress. Of course, I never thought I would, but on Christmas Eve the bridal salon called to tell me I had won! I was so delighted and thought it was a blessing from my mum who had passed away suddenly the June before,” explained Donna.
All was running smoothly until eight weeks before the wedding their venue cancelled due to licensing issues so Donna and Niall were left searching for another venue at very short notice!
“Thankfully my aunt has suggested the White River House Hotel in Toomebridge, somewhere I had never been before. But from the moment we set foot inside we knew that it was a blessing in disguise…. Susan the Wedding Co-coordinator, Mary the manager and rest of the staff couldn’t do enough for us, so very accommodating and attentive and nothing was too much trouble,” explained Donna.
Their wedding went perfectly from start to finish, with an elegant vintage theme, which incorporated lace and calming neutral tones. The reception suite at the White River Hotel was given an understated look with ivory birdcage table centres, ivory and lace chair covers and a stunning ivory wedding cake topped with ribbon, lace and pearl details.
Donna’s highlight was having her beloved Granny in attendance on the day and for Niall, sharing their day with his elderly uncle made it that extra special.
