This morning we’re delighted to share the wedding of Charlotte and Ciaran who were married in April this year at the Church of the Assumption Tullyallen, with their following reception at Killyhevlin Hotel & Spa in Enniskillen. Their day was full of personal little touches from family and friends and ended with an impromptu boat ride for the happy couple. Photography is by Stephen Latimer Photography, are you ready for a touch of Hollywood glamour to your Tuesday? Off we go!
“We first met when Ciaran lived with one of my best friends Rachael at Uni and we met at the Comedy Club in the Empire, in Belfast in 2007. We where a good match from the start, but we travelled around Australia and New Zealand tougher and when we got home many miles back and forth over the Glenshane Pass to see each other, we knew we where on the right path,” explained Charlotte.
Ciaran proposed on the beach in Cancun, Mexico with a platinum engagement with solitaire diamond.
Charlotte had great fun planning their wedding and found it a really exciting project.
“I have a great team of family and friends and they gave lots of good ideas and support. Also weekly countdowns to the big day! We didn’t have a theme as such, but I loved the Hollywood Glam feel to my dress and I wanted to stick with that style for the day. My Aunty Una organised some old suitcases with personalised pens for our guests to leave some message, and our table plan and booklets where made by Ciaran and his sister Patricia. Our invitations where made by Print IT run by the Applebee Trust for adults with learning disabilities, my brother works here and was so proud to be doing our invitations, they where fabulous.
We provided picnic bags for our guests as they where leaving the chapel and they contained locally produced, Tayto crisps and Rockwell water, along with some chocolate. They went down a treat and where made by myself and Ciaran and helped filled by my 93 year old Granda with great precision!” said Charlotte.
Charlottes wedding gown was a beautiful strapless gown with lace detailing and full princess skirt.
“I got my dress in Creative Ideas Bridal in Armagh, I had tried on a few beforehand and had never thought of going strapless, but when I put it on I felt fab and loved the details. Charlene and the staff where really excellent, especially when it came to choosing my bridesmaids dresses. My bridesmaids where based all over the world, Carla was in North Carolina, Jayne in Brisbane, Margaret in Nottingham and Andrea was the closest but lives in Warrenpoint! Charlene and her team were very supportive and accommodating when getting the dresses and working around when the girls were home,” added Charlotte.
“As the cliché goes the whole day was really brilliant, but we where so lucky with the weather, which made the day flow even better and our guests got to avail of the gorgeous landscaped gardens at the back of the Killyhevlin Hotel. As we walked to the pier a man who had docked his boat offered us an opportunity to board it and take pictures! The boat was brilliantly names ‘No Riff Raff’, I was a bit apprehensive about ending up in Lough Erne, but we went with it and had lots of fun!” said Charlotte.
The couple followed their dream wedding day with a honeymoon of a lifetime, two nights in New York followed by a Caribbean cruise on Quantum of the Seas.
