A CHANCE MEETING IN BELFAST LED TO TRUE LOVE AND HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

When Ashley O’Neill and Terence McNamara first met on a night out in Belfast, it was love at first bite. Both independent business owners based in the city, their paths crossed when Ashley was waiting for a taxi home. Terence started to chat to her, then won her over with his charm by buying her a burger. And the rest, as they say, is history! A few years later he turned the charm offensive up a notch when he swept Ashley away on holiday to The Grand at Moon Palace, Cancun, where he booked a beachside dinner, got down on one knee and proposed, presenting her with a beautiful engagement ring he picked from Murray and Co., the Belfast jewellers.

When it came to picking her dress, Fate intervened rather quickly. Having a fair idea of what she wanted, Ashley found ‘the dress’ in one go. In fact, it was the first dress she tried on in Forever Bridal, Belfast, and she just knew it was the one. As her luck continued, she also found her bridesmaid dresses there making it the ideal one-stop wedding shopping experience.

Planning for the main event entailed plenty to do, but seeing it all come together on their wedding day was the biggest thrill of all. Ashley and Terence exchanged their vows on 2 October 2021 at the Galgorm Hotel & Spa, Ballymena. One hundred guests shared the joy of the humanist celebration, which was very special and personal to the couple. With Ashley’s daughter Reilly O’Neill, her maid of honour, and two sisters/bridesmaids Cherie and Erin O’Neill, and groomsmen including, Terence McNamara senior, brother Niall McNamara and friends Rian Gillen and Conor Stewert, looking on, the ceremony was just perfect.

Ashley chose the colours white and gold as her wedding theme, creatively incorporating her business brand colours into the invites, favours, décor, and even the bridesmaids dresses. Seeing the venue all dressed to perfection was one of the highlights of the day for Ashley and Terence. The day was truly perfect.

Reflecting on their own wedding day, their advice to future brides and groom would be to relish every moment of your special day and take a brief time out to spend alone with your new spouse before the reception starts to truly savour your vows and your wedding day.
