The girls and I are professionally trained with lots of experience in using all kinds of hair extension methods including nanos, micro loops, keratin bonds, LA weave and tape. All extensions have to be colour matched, fitted and cut properly so a lot of time and effort is required in the initial stages to make sure every client is happy with their results,” explained Maria. Before you decide to take the plunge and have your extensions fitted, Maria offers each client a consultation to explain the different methods, pricing and maintenance. All hair used in the salon is sourced from Russia and India and comes with the highest grading.
Extensions Explained
Nano Tip Hair Extensions: Nano tip hair extensions involves the placement of individual hair extension strands, secured using a tiny nano ring. They are considered to be 90% smaller than the traditional micro ring, making them less detectable and comfortable for those with finer hair types.
Keratin Bonds: Keratin is a family of fibrous structural proteins and is the key structural material found on the outer layer of human skin, hair and nails, for hair extensions it comes in the form of a glue type substance. A heat connector is used to fuse the end of the hair extension to the natural hair. Keratin is a very resilient product, and your extensions are likely to last 3 to 4 months before they need changing.
Micro Loops:
A micro ring hair extension is a method of fitting that involves the use of a fixture, such as a micro ring or micro tube, to keep the hair extension in place without the use of heat or glue. Micro ring hair extensions are considered to be one of the safest methods available, and when fitted correctly should cause no damage to the natural hair.
L.A Weave:
L.A weave is a technique used to make sewn tracks less visible than your ordinary braided sew-in weaves. It is secured with around 20 micro rings. Causing no stress or damage. This method allows the hair to breathe, and is much easier to shampoo and scratch, without using sharp objects that can injure the scalp.
Tape:
Tape-in hair extensions are applied using either double or single-sided polyurethane tape. With doublesided tape, the weft is applied to the hair after the backing has been removed from one side. The weft and the attached hair are pulled upwards, and another weft is applied to the other side of the tape to “sandwich” the hair.
