The Way to a Woman’s Heart This Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day means lots of romantic proposals, but it’s not just about engagement rings. Every man knows that diamonds are a girl’s best friend (or at least they should), so why not casually leave this blog open where your other half can see it and hopefully Cupid will bring you some beautiful bling along with your roses and chocolates this year!
Right hand rings are particularly hot right now but with so many to choose from, we enlisted the help of Danielle McGrath from award-winning engagement ring specialist D & K The Jewellers in Cookstown.
Danielle said: “We are finding precious stones such as emerald, sapphire and Tanzanite are of interest to customers right now. Particularly for those who are looking for a really nice right hand ring, or perhaps an alternative eternity ring. There are lots of interesting shapes and styles and you can afford to be a bit more daring and bold as these are stand alone rings. In terms of colour – think bold and dramatic!”
SAY, ‘YES!’
If you think he might pop the question and have your heart set on a ring with a difference, Danielle said coloured, precious stone rings also make exquisite engagement rings. She said: “Oval engagement rings and pear shape engagement rings seem to be in demand at present. They still maintain the soft shape desirable with the round brilliant cut diamond but give customers the most unusual shape.”
As always, rose gold diamond rings are still of interest as are yellow and white gold, however, according to Danielle, different metal colours suit different skin tones, so do your research and have fun trying some on beforehand if you can.
THE GIFT OF LOVE
If partners want to buy a little love token, it might be a nice idea to choose complementary pendant and earrings. These come in silver, yellow gold, rose, white gold and platinum etc. Danielle added: “It is nice to co-ordinate our jewellery. It isn’t about having a matching set, but it is nice if pieces work together to create a stunning assemble of sparkle. It looks chic and elegant.”
Finally, Danielle adds: “Precious jewellery can dress up the simplest of outfits and above all, it is always a precious gift to cherish. It’s perfect for a special Valentine’s present, perhaps the first as a married couple? Or the first gift as a newly engaged couple after a Christmas proposal?”
