Makeup
For this bridal look I envisioned elegance, with a hint of glam. For brides, I want them to look like the best version of themself, but still feel glamorous with makeup that lasts twelve hours plus. For the beautiful Shannon less was more, I started by prepping her skin with a favourite of mine, the ‘Garnier Aloe’ toner, this allows any residue of fake tan or dead skin that’s left on the skin to come away so that the moisturiser can work into the skin. Next, I added ‘Estée Lauder’ advanced night repair serum, this is very light weight, adds a hydrating glow, and settles into the skin perfectly. For moisturiser I don’t like to overload the skin, especially when doing a photoshoot, there I opted for the Loreal Hydra Gel, which is super lightweight, refreshing on the skin and has a lovely lasting smell for the bride to enjoy. I always start with eyes, and for Shannon, she had beautiful blue eyes, so I wanted those to pop, so adding bronze and copper browns to her eyes along with a little hint of sparkle just really allows her eyes to be the feature of the entire makeup. So the eyes aren’t overpowered I tend to use a half lash, this also allows the eyes to appear more open. For foundation as a makeup artist of over 10 years, I’ve found mixing foundations, different brands and textures allows for the makeup to last, but you can also customise foundation to suit the brides skin type. For Shannon I used ‘Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech’, along with ‘Dior Face and Body’, both these foundations add glow to the skin and are buildable, allowing the skin not to get overwhelmed. For a soft contour I used ‘Bobbi Brown’ foundation stick, on-top of the cream contour I added ‘Mac Bronze’ in deepest dark. Blush has very much made a comeback, which I’m thrilled about, so to add a hint of glow and just keep the skin looking bouncy and fresh I use the ‘Elf Halo Glow’ blush and simply patted this into the high points of the cheeks. To give the cheeks an extra glow, I brushed a hint of ‘Mac Global Glow’, this product has been around forever but is a Classic that is always in my makeup artist kit. For the skin unless it really needs it, I’ll only ever use small amounts of powder, my go to would be ‘Charlotte Tilbury’ pressed powder and ‘Givenchy’ loose powder. For Lips I used ‘Morphe’ lip liner in Sweet Tea and for lipstick I added ‘Charlotte Tilbury’ Penelope pink along with ‘B Perfect’ lip library gloss in shade obsession. Blanc Brides will always get my signature chest glow, this is usually something brides really get excited for, and this simply brings the chest to life. Usually, tan doesn’t take too well to your chest, so adding glow products just helps to add some more colour to the chest, but more importantly allows you to shine walking down the aisle.

Hair
As a bridal Stylist I pride myself on maintaining a high level of training and understanding in all areas of hairstyling when I work with my Brides . It’s very important to keep up to date on current looks and trends in fashion and makeup so I can create the perfect look for each person. For Shannon’s cover look I wanted to created hair that was soft and natural with loose brushed out waves , this is a look that is very popular for 2025 following that ‘less is more’ vibe. I prepped Shannon’s hair using the styling range from ‘Colour Wow’ blow-drying her hair in sections smoothly with their ‘Speed Dry Spray’ and ‘Dream Coat’ to create a frizz free base and adding ‘Shine and smoother finish’. To create the boho wavesI used the large barell tong from ‘Babyliss’ taking big sections and curling them away from her face , keeping her hair in the centre parting, this keeps the look modern and glam. I finished Shannon’s Hair using my favourite product from the ‘Farmavita Range’, ‘Glow’ an ultimate styling product to create a perfect shine to her look.

Photographer
Guildhall is one of my favourite spots to photograph intimate weddings, and I always love shooting around this location. Having Shannon as our model made it even better—she just got it. No over-posing, just a natural lean against the curve of the stone wall, looking straight into the lens. Simple, effortless, and absolutely stunning. We found the perfect spot for this shot, right at the main doors of the hall. The old, rustic brick and the warm yellow tones of the surrounding walls made it an easy choice for the front cover.
