Belle Isle Estate and Private Island is celebrating a remarkable achievement at the Irish Hotel Awards, held on October 20th, 2025. The venue was awarded the prestigious, National Award – 2025 Waterside Wedding Venue of the Year, recognising its excellence in the hospitality sector, the Award was presented at the Gala Awards Night in Johnstown House Estate in Co. Meath
General Manager John O’Neill expressed his delight, stating, “This award is a testament to the dedication of our team and the ongoing investment of the Crawford Family who purchased the estate just twelve months ago.”
“Over the last year, Belle Isle has undergone significant investments and enhancements, elevating the Property to its position as a premier wedding destination on the island of Ireland. These improvements include the expansion of wedding facilities, as well as significant enhancements to the Castle and grounds, which have been projects that have led to this award and recognition as a leading wedding venue.”
Mr O’ Neill commented that;
“The unique character of Belle Isle, nurtured by the Crawford Family’s commitment, ensures an exceptional wedding experience for every guest. The estate is now embarking on a new chapter as a leading events venue, with phase two of the construction of the Carry bridge venue also commencing in January 2026. There will be great synergy between the two venues which sit side by side on the Upper Lake”.
Adding to the evening’s success, John O’Neill was also honoured with the General Manager of the Year Award. He acknowledged the crucial support of the Crawford Family , the dedication of all members of the Belle Isle team, our grounds maintenance team , maintenance team and the suppliers and vendors who work with the estate and in particular Norman Coalter and his team who are the dedicated food and beverage operators on the Estate.
The awards ceremony, attended by Ireland’s leading wedding venues, was a moment of immense pride for Belle Isle. These accolades serve as inspiration for the team to continue delivering exceptional events and exceeding guest expectations.
