MEET THE EXPERTS WHO CREATED THE FRONT COVER LOOK
MAKE-UP
When creating this bridal make-up look, I went for a soft glam smokey eye look to compliment Aiobhe’s stunning features. I started by using REN Glow Tonic to waken up the skin and bring out her natural radiance. I then added a boost of hydration using Mario Badescu Rosewater facial spray which refreshes the skin. For the next step I moisturised using my favourite bridal skin prep, Bobbi Brown ‘Vitamin Enriched Facebase’, which adds to the pampering experience for the bride on her special day. I prepped the eyes using P Louise Eyeshadow base in ‘Shade 2’, which helps keep the eye area fresh and bright. I used a mixture of MAC and P Louise eyeshadows from the ‘Wedding Wish XL’ palette, then my ultimate go-to kohl eyeliner pencil in shade ‘CostaRiche’ from Mac, which is a beautiful warm brown shade I fnd really makes the client’s eye colour pop. I used Mac Loose Pigment Powder in shade ‘Naked’ which is perfect for brides who prefer just a hint of subtle sparkle. Using a combination of soft brown shadows and the MAC Cost-Riche pencil, I created a soft smokey wing to give a more statement eye look. I always use the Inglot Nude kohl liner pencil in the waterline for brides as it is long-lasting, and I think it keeps the fresh look which is important when creating a day to night look. I finished the eye look using individual lashes, which I always tend to use for brides as they can be tailored to create any desired style and are super comfortable and lightweight. To set under the eyes, I used Givenchy’s ‘Prism Libre’ powder in shade 3, which has a pink tone, giving a flawless, bright finish. I then used one of my holy grail products, Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter to make sure Aoibhe’s skin kept that glow underneath her foundation. I applied Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless and mixed this with NARS Radiant Longwear, as I fnd this combination keeps the make-up on all day without losing that radiance. I then used my favourite cream bronzer, Charlotte Tilbury in shade Medium, after trying a range of cream bronzers over the years, I found this compliments a range of different skin tones. For blusher I used NUDESTIX in shade ‘Sweet Peach Peony’, Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm in ‘Pinkgasm’ for an extra highlight. On Aoibhe’s neck and chest I used one of my new favourite products, ‘By Terry CC Serum’ in shade 4, which gives a beautiful warm glow to the skin and smells divine. I used one of my favourite liners, Barry M Toast. I then applied Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in shade Angel Alessandra and topped with my favourite lip gloss ‘Gilded’ by Anastasia Beverly Hills which has a subtle creamy golden tone. To used Illamaqua’s ‘Epic’ highlight to dust the high points of her cheekbones and finished with the BECCA highlight & blush palette to enhance her complexion. I used my go-to brow product Got 2 Be Brow Gel to ensure her brows stayed in place all day, then NYX micro brow pencil in shade ‘Espresso’ to add definition. I set the face with Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and used Morphe’s continuous setting spray in coconut scent to finish the look.

HAIR
To prep the curls I used Schwarzkopf Professional Silhouette pump spray and Be Almai wand 32mm. I used Got2B volume powder before back combing the roots to create body, before adding Schwarzkopf Professional Osis texture spray. Smoothing out the hair with ‘bed head – after party’. I also added padding into her hair to add extra volume. This is a popular up style for many brides with lots of body and soft curls framing the face.

PHOTOGRAPHER
As You Do are situated in a beautiful courtyard in Magheralin (a stones throw from where I grew up). The setting is ideal for a shoot of this kind. Working with Aoibhe (model) came naturally. We found ourselves in a really good rhythm after only a few minutes. She followed my direction with ease and brought her own energy to the shoot, making my job as the photographer an enjoyable experience. In the featured photograph, we took advantage of one of the many benches around the venue. In an attempt for a non-conventional pose, I suggested she put her feet up, tilt her head back and do her thing! We’re very happy with the fnal result. Harry Bateman – Friends and Lovers Films
