We’ve invited award -winning make-up artist and owner of Ashburn Image Make-up,
Hair & Skin Clinic, Rosemary Wright, to answer your bridal beauty prep and make-up questions.
Samantha asked:
As soon as autumn arrives my lips be come dry and flakey, not a look I want on my wedding day! Have you any advice or product recommendations for keeping them moisturised and ready for lipstick?
Rosemary says:
The lip area has no oil secretion and therefore needs plenty of moisture. To help, get a small very soft toothbrush and exfoliate the lip regularly and then apply a good vitamin E lip treatment. I highly recommend the Rosemary Wright Vitamin E lip moisture treatment.
Ruby asked:
I don’t use make-up artists very often and I’m a little worried. How will I know that my make-up base will last all day? Am I
just to trust my MUA for a long lasting stay or do I need to mention this is really what I want on my wedding day?
Rosemary says:
The base is the most important part of your make-up. Always tell your make-up artist what type of skin you have. If you have an oily complexion the skin needs no oil near it as the skin produces enough. So a good primer like the Sisley primer is good for all skin types but especially for the oily skin. On the day I would suggest you keep your loose powder nearby as this will help to keep any shine at bay – I highly recommend the Laura Mercier Setting Powder.
Nadine asked:
My skin has several tiny broken red veins on my cheeks that do cover with make-up. How can I stop my skin from getting anymore or can I remove the ones I already have?
Rosemary says:
In the salon we offer a treatment called Photo-Rejuvenation that removes red veins permanently. This treatment would need to be done at least two months before any big event as the skin needs to go through the healing process.
Louise asked:
What can we expect in bridal make-up forAW 18 & 19?
Rosemary says:
Make-up for the brides in 2018/2019 will be a lot softer in appearance as the harsh contoured look is going out. The lips will be very soft and there will be a lot of rusts, browns and golds used on the eyes.
Beauty Must Haves…
Rosemary’s Top Bridal Beauty Tips
1 A pet hate of mine is when a client comes to get make-up applied with a full face of make-up already on. The main part of your look is the foundation so therefore a well groomed skin before any big day is a must.
2 Your facials should be Microdermabrasion, Micro-Needling or Chemical Peels – something that really gives the skin a good boost.
3 Always pick a salon that offers the latest and newest treatments on the market.
