Good evening brides-to-be!
We’re a little later that usual today with our fabulous wedding post, but we think it’s definitely worth the wait! This week we’ve been working very hard putting the finishing touches to our Spring Summer issue, which will hit the shops very soon.
Tonights wedding of Becky and Adam is an utterly amazing do with a Phantom of The Opera theme, a wedding dress that will blow your mind and stylish monochrome decor, throughout.
Andrew is from Braintree in Essex, but it was during a night out in Belfast that he first met Becky who is originally from Crumlin. The couple had a long distance relationship for a few months before Becky moved to England.
Three and a half years later during a holiday in New York Adam proposed on a rooftop terrance which overlooked the Empire State Building.
“As soon as Adam said ‘I have something to ask you’ I burst in to tears! Although he assures me I did say yes,” said Becky.
The couple chose Belfast Castle for their August wedding. With a love of monochrome and musical theatre a Phantom of the Opera theme grew using masks, roses, music and an overall elegant tone.
After visiting bridal boutiques for her dream wedding gown, which Becky imagined would be lace and fishtail in style, she chose a wildcard dress from Haven Bridal in Moira. Although she immediately dismissed it, after a little thought and with visions of changing parts of it to suit her frame, Becky chose the strapless gown with layered netting skirt. Her dressmaker, The Sewing Cottage in Moira removed the original dropped waist feature and added a black ribbon to tie in with the overall theme.
The theme of the day was brought to life in the dining room with intricate handmade table centres, flowers and sleek black and white chairs.
“My dad made each of the piano key table centres, it took him 21 times to get the design exactly right! Each centre featured a Phantom mask and they looked amazing,” added Becky.
“The day was perfect. It was a mix of English, Northern Irish and Welsh family, everyone had a ball. After the ceremony the guests had Prosecco with hibiscus flowers, which open up as a flower once added to the sparkling wine,” said Becky.
